One thing you will definitely see if you are browsing the internet about MLM is the declarations that there are magical formulas for making your MLM business work. I would say there may be some fairly successful methods that usually do work, but is there any one magic formula? Not really. It’s like anything else in life that you want. You will get out of something what you put into it. If you want something to die, don’t feed it. If you want something to thrive, feed it, nurture it, and invest time in it. It’s the law of sowing and reaping. If you don’t sow, you can’t reap.

All businesses take effort! You can’t just sit back and do nothing. It is true there are some things you have to do first to achieve the results you want later. Sometimes then it may feel like you are doing nothing. But that is in the reaping stage. You have already put in the hard work that leads to the harvest. The effort you put into learning about your products in turn leads into applying the knowledge. As you apply the knowledge to your target market and lead with value, you will be successful.

As you contact leads, remember who you should invest your time in. If you have a lead, get a feel right away about the individual’s need. If you can meet that need with your service or product, you are investing in you contact lead. That investment, in turn, will reap in benefits for you and the individual who wants a particular area or problem solved with your product or service. If you have a lead that comes up a dead end, forget it and go on. You can’t teach or help someone who doesn’t want it.

As you practice this process over and over, you will become more adept at leading with value. When you know your product or service, and know how to help someone who has a desire or need, you are leading or teaching. You are not selling. You are investing in a relationship. You are sowing into someone’s life by helping them. That’s why all of these principals work entirely different than selling. It’s why chasing after something doesn’t work and attracting something does work. It’s the difference between the hunter and the hunted. And, it results in great rewards in the end.
